All preparations have been completed for Begum Khaleda Zia to go abroad for advanced medical treatment. Dhaka, November 6, 2024 (BSS): All preparations have been completed for Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia to go abroad for advanced medical treatment.

 

All preparations have been completed . The visa process for all her travel companions, including the seven doctors on her medical board, has also been completed.

 

If her physical condition remains stable, she will be taken first to London, United Kingdom, on a “long-distance specialized air ambulance” on November 8. However, if an air ambulance is not available, her departure may be delayed by a day or two.

Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, a former minister and member of the BNP Standing Committee, said that all the formalities required for Begum Khaleda Zia’s visit to London have been finished. She is anticipated to travel to London on November 8 if her health holds steady. He added that Begum Khaleda Zia will be accompanied by 16 individuals, including three assistants, nurses, and seven medical board physicians.

 

Begum Khaleda Zia would initially journey from Dhaka to London, UK, according to Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, who was speaking to reporters. She might then be transported to a “multidisciplinary health center” in Germany or the United States for a liver transplant, depending on the advice of specialized medical professionals.

He stated that numerous London hospitals had already been contacted to treat the BNP Chairperson.

In this context, BNP Standing Committee member Salauddin Ahmed remarked that the air ambulance intended to take BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia abroad will be outfitted with the essential medical support equipment.

Begum Khaleda Zia, 79, suffers from a variety of diseases, including liver cirrhosis, heart disease, lung troubles, arthritis, kidney problems, diabetes, and eye disorders.

 

She has had to undertake protracted treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital on several occasions, as advised by a medical board made up of professional doctors.
