At gunpoint 40 bhori of gold ornaments and 7 lakh takas in cash were looted in Narayanganj. In Fatullah, Narayanganj, a merchant named Rezaul Karim Mala had his home robbed. His son and daughter-in-law were viciously attacked by a gang of masked thieves who broke through the window grille to enter the house and tied them up. They stole 40 bhori (around 466 grams) of gold ornaments and 7 lakh takas in cash while holding the family at gunpoint.

Dhaka Textile’s owner, Rezaul Karim Mala, reported that six masked robbers broke through the grille of a window at the rear of his two-story home early in the morning. While the other thieves brought sharp weapons, one of them carried a revolver. They all had their faces covered, and others of the group also stood watch outside the house.

His younger son Alauddin’s room was where the robbers initially entered. They threatened Alauddin and his wife with firearms and tied them up at gunpoint. Both Alauddin and his wife, Nasrin Akter, were severely beaten by the bandits as they screamed for assistance. After that, they seized 40 bhori (about 466 grams) of gold by forcefully removing jewelry from Nasrin’s fingers and neck as well as other gold items from the wardrobe. The injured Alauddin and his wife Nasrin were transferred to the 300-bed hospital in Narayanganj for treatment after the thieves ran away.

 

The Fatullah Model Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC), Shariful Islam, stated that some evidence was gathered from the scene following the receipt of information. Additionally, CCTV footage has been retrieved. In addition to recovering the stolen goods, the police are attempting to locate and apprehend the criminals.
