Following a search of the aircraft, no bomb was found. A comprehensive search was done on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Rome, Italy, to Dhaka in response to a bomb threat. However, no explosives or suspicious objects were discovered.

 

Following a search of the aircraft: This information was provided by Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport authorities about 12:30 PM on Wednesday (January 22).

 

According to airport authorities, Biman Bangladesh Airlines conducts direct flights between Dhaka and Rome, Italy. Flight BG-356 arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday. The flight had 250 passengers and 13 crew members.

 

However, before the flight landed, the pilot told the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport authorities that someone on board had made a bomb threat. According to this information, as the plane arrived, law enforcement officers surrounded it with a security cordon.

 

Until 12:30 PM, the interior of the airplane and the passengers’ bags were extensively examined. However, no bombs were discovered anywhere. During this period, all passengers’ immigration was suspended, and they were held in a designated area within the airport.

 

Around 10:00 a.m., Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s Executive Director, Group Captain Mohammad Kamrul Islam, notified press that after the flight landed, all passengers and crew had been safely evacuated. The passengers were taken to the terminal.
