Foreign investment in EPZs has decreased by 22.33%. Since the July movement, foreign investment in the country’s Export Processing Zones (EPZs) has decreased by 22.33 percent.

 

Foreign investment in EPZs: This information was revealed by the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) at a press conference on Monday.

 

It was stated that during the July-December period of the 2023-24 fiscal year, investments in EPZs amounted to $162.6 billion. However, during the same period of the 2024-25 fiscal year, the investment dropped to $126.3 billion.

 

At the press conference, it was mentioned that the decline in investment was due not only to changing circumstances but also to the global economic situation. Despite the drop in investment, exports from EPZs increased by 22.41 percent during this time.
