My shirt was pulled and tugged

My shirt was pulled and tugged before I was thrown to the ground. Clashes at KUET Over Student Politics Ban, VC Claims Assault. A clash erupted at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) on Tuesday (February 18) over differing stances on banning student politics. Tensions escalated between members of the Chhatra Dal and general students, leading the university administration to suspend academic activities to control the situation.

My shirt was pulled and tugged: Later that night, around 10 PM, agitated students surrounded KUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Masood, demanding that he take responsibility for the failure and offer an unconditional apology. In response, he stated, “I have no failure. Why should I resign? Fights like these happen from time to time.”

His remarks further enraged the students, who then harassed and attacked him. As a result, he fell ill and was admitted to KUET’s medical center.

Speaking to  an interview on Wednesday night (January 19), VC Professor Dr. Muhammad Masood said, “I love my campus dearly. But I am deeply hurt by how my students mistreated me yesterday. They first grabbed and pulled my shirt and then threw me to the ground, causing a cut on my hand.”

While refusing to disclose the names of those involved, he added, “I don’t know whether the attackers were affiliated with any political organization.”
