Those injured in the July-August movement are presenting their seven demands. At a meeting with government officials at the Secretariat that began at 4:40 p.m., a delegation of those hurt during the July-August revolt is presenting their seven-point demands.

Those injured in the July-August movement. One of the demands is that the state guarantee injured people the same level of medical care that would have been given to a minister or adviser to the temporary administration.

Zihad Islam, a coordinator of the relatives of the martyred and injured of the revolt, signed the press release outlining the seven criteria. It also stated that the injured individuals who had treatment at their own expense must have their medical bills refunded.

 

Along with their rehabilitation, it was also demanded that the wounded and martyred receive special cards and a special monthly stipend for a future generation.

They demanded an annual mass signature campaign program from July 1 to August 5 and a museum named the “Smriti Foundation” to honor those murdered or injured during the 2024 mass rebellion.

 

They demanded that an impartial investigation committee be established to look into the medical records of people who were murdered or had limbs amputated during the mass rebellion, and that legal action be taken if evidence of medical malpractice was discovered.

 

They also demanded a ban on the Awami League and its allied groups as well as the prompt prosecution of these groups.

Additionally, they called for future governmental reform measures to take into account the voices of injured demonstrators and the relatives of those deceased. Those injured in the July-August movement.

 

Yesterday, a group of demonstrators receiving medical attention for injuries sustained during the July–August mass uprising staged a protest in front of the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), demanding better care and support from the government.

After four advisors visited NITOR at 2:30 am today and gave the demonstrators assurances of appropriate care and rehabilitation, the demonstrators gave up and consented to return to their hospitals with the promise of support and prompt money release.

 

Last night, the advisors proposed to meet with the demonstrators’ representatives this afternoon.
