Throwing bricks and stones at a train in Mohakhali. Demanding that the government-run Titumir College in the capital be transformed into a university, students have stopped Mohakhali’s roadways and railroads. The public has been greatly inconvenienced as a result of the complete stoppage of all forms of traffic on both sides of the road that connects Mohakhali and Shahjalal International Airport.

Throwing bricks and stones.. An effort was made during the blockade to halt the Upakul Express, an intercity train that runs from Noakhali to Dhaka, when it crossed the Mohakhali railway crossing. However, bricks and stones were thrown at the train, shattering several of its windows, when it failed to stop and instead continued at a slower pace. During the event, other individuals were also observed scaling the train’s roof.

A procession of 1,500 to 2,000 Titumir College students left the school at approximately 11:15 AM on Monday. Around 11:30 AM, the march arrived at the Amtoli intersection, which leads to the Mohakhali railway crossing region.

The students have said that unless a Ministry of Education representative visits the location, they would not remove the barricade. They insist that representatives from the ministry visit Mohakhali. There are water cannons and armored police cars on the site.

Over the past few months, Government Titumir College students have protested on multiple occasions by blocking highways and calling for the establishment of a Titumir University Commission as well as the college’s conversion to a university. Throwing bricks and stones.

Traffic on both sides of the route from Mohakhali to Shahjalal International Airport stopped because of the students’ roadblock. Many people had to walk to their destinations because there were no cars accessible.

According to witnesses, the Elevated Expressway continued to function even though traffic on the Mohakhali overpass and the road below was halted. But there were no trains visible going through Mohakhali.

Additionally, witnesses reported that the demonstrators only permitted the passage of ambulances and CNG autorickshaws transporting patients.

Mahmudul Hasan, a student, stated that if even one state official is open to having talks, they need to physically visit Mohakhali. There will be no other location for the conversation. The representative needs to sit with every student, he stressed. They will advance to Amtoli and clear the railroad tracks if a state representative shows up.
