Two (2) friends died in a road accident in Srimangal

Abdullah Al Sayem (17) and Amit Sutradhar (18) took a CNG-powered autorickshaw from Srimangal to Ganamohavidyalaya for an exam. The auto-rickshaw was going through the Bottola Bazaar neighborhood on the Bhanugach-Srimangal road in Kamalganj when a child unexpectedly ran into the middle of the road.

Two (2) deaths occurred

Two (2) friends died in a road accident in Srimangal. Abdullah Al Sayem (17) and Amit Sutradhar (18) took a CNG-powered autorickshaw from Srimangal to Ganamohavidyalaya for an exam. The auto-rickshaw was going through the Bottola Bazaar neighborhood on the Bhanugach-Srimangal road in Kamalganj when a child unexpectedly ran into the middle of the road.

 

Two (2)  friends died. In an attempt to save the infant, the driver lost control and the auto-rickshaw overturned. While the child was injured, two pals tragically died.

The event occurred today, Wednesday, around 10 a.m., in Kamalganj’s Bottola Bazaar. Meanwhile, Kamalganj Ganamohavidyalaya has expressed regret over the students’ deaths and injuries.

Abdullah Al Sayem, son of Kashem Mia from Maizdihi in Kalapur Union, Srimangal, and Amit Sutradhar (18), son of Robi Sutradhar from Bhagalpur in the same upazila, were both killed. They were both 12th graders at Kamalganj Ganamohavidyalaya. During the event, Shahin Mia (18), son of Moyna Mia of Maizdihi, Srimangal; Saikat Dev (18), son of Giru Dev; and Jannatul (11), a kid, were hurt.

According to eyewitnesses and police sources, the boy abruptly attempted to cross the street, stepping in front of the moving auto-rickshaw. The driver attempted to move the car to the side to save the child, but the auto-rickshaw overturned on the wayside. Student Abdullah Al Sayem died on the scene. Locals rescued the injured and transported them to the Kamalganj Upazila Health Complex. Due to Amit and the child’s critical condition, Jannatul, the attending doctor, referred them to Moulvibazar Hospital. Amit died from his injuries while traveling to Sylhet for specialized treatment.

Syed Iftekhar Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kamalganj Police Station, described the situation as “tragic.” We recovered their bodies. If the families of the deceased request the bodies without an autopsy, it will be approved by higher authorities.”
