Badhon reflected on her hectic schedule last year, saying, “I was quite busy with my career. I finished work on Rezwan Shahriar Sumit’s Master and Sani Sanwar’s Esha Murder. I hope these two films be released in the coming year. In addition, talks about two more new films are underway.
Badhon is currently completing her responsibilities as a single mother, which is widely known. Her life centers around her only daughter, Michelle Amani Sayra. The 23rd edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival will begin at the start of the new year. Starting on January 11, this nine-day festival will feature about 250 films from 75 nations. The festival’s jury members include actor Ilias Kanchan and actress Azmeri Haque Badhon.
Ilias Kanchan has been named a judge in the Asian Film Competition category. Speaking to the media, he stated, “I have previously served as a judge at this festival.” Although I was asked again in later years, I was unable to make time. This year, I’ve taken on the responsibility again. I shall do my best to carry out the responsibilities assigned to me effectively.”
The jury for this category comprises Norwegian film distributor Egil Ødegård, Chinese screenwriter and director Zhang Yudi, Mongolian actor Mungunzul Amgalanbaatar, and British filmmaker and educator Dragan Milinković.
Meanwhile, actress Azmeri Haque Badhon will be a jury member in the Women Filmmakers category. Regarding her role, Badhon stated, “The Dhaka International Film Festival has been held for many years. Being a jury member at this event is an honor and offers me great joy.”
