Factory explosion in Habiganj deaths 4 people. An explosion occurred at a factory’s gas substation line in Bahubal, Habiganj, killing four persons. Two more people were injured in the event.
Factory explosion in Habiganj : The incident occurred on Tuesday (December 31) at approximately 9:00 a.m. at Akij Venture Limited’s under-construction project site in the Dubai region of Putijuri Union, Bahubal Upazila.
The deceased have been identified as Riaz, Mahfuz, Mizan, and Gazi. Riaz was employed as an engineer at the firm, while the other three were laborers.
According to local informants and police, the Akij Group is building a plant in the Dubai region of Bahubal Upazila. Around 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, a tremendous explosion was reported at the gas substation. After the explosion, panic swept throughout the area. When police learned of the incident, they rushed to the location. The explosion killed two persons on the scene, and two more died on the way to the hospital from their injuries. The injured have been admitted to the hospital.
Zahidul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Bahubal Model Police Station, stated that a gas cylinder explosion happened at the Akij Group facility this morning. Engineer Riaz and laborer Mahfuz died on the scene. Mizan and Gazi died after being admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital. Their bodies are lying in the Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
