The BCB announced the squad for the Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. The Under-19 Women’s Asia Cup completed just a few days ago, with Bangladesh finishing second after losing to India in the final. Despite the conclusion of the Asia Cup, the Under-19 team’s schedule remains full as they prepare for the 2017 World Cup. The BCB has revealed the Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup squad, which includes two alterations. Lucky Khatun and Sadia Islam have joined as new members.

 

The BCB announced the squad:  Malaysia will also host the Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup, like it did with the Asia Cup. Arvin Tani and Meherun Nesa have been withdrawn from the Asia Cup team but will stay on the standby list. Sumaiya Akter, who led the team to a second-place finish in the Asia Cup, will captain the team at the World Cup.

 

Bangladesh is in Group ‘D’ of the 16-team World Cup. Their campaign will start on January 18 with a match against Nepal. They’ll play Australia on January 20 and Scotland on January 22. Before the World Cup, Bangladesh will play four T20 matches against hosts Sri Lanka from January 3 to 9. The team will leave for Colombo on Thursday.

Sumaiya Akter (Captain), Afia Asima Ira (Vice-Captain), Mosammat Eva, Fahmida Chhoa, Habiba Islam Pinky, Juairia Ferdous, Faria Akter, Farzana Yasmin, Anisa Akter Subha, Sumaiya Akter Suborna, Nishita Akter Nishi, Lucky Khatun, Jannatul Mawa, Sadia Akter, Sadia Islam.

 

Standby players include Ashrafi Yasmin Orthi, Leky Chakma, Orvin Tani, and Meherun Nesa.
