Drinking coffee in the morning is better for your health. A recent study discovered that drinking coffee in the morning may be more helpful to health than drinking coffee at any other time of day. The study, published in the European Heart Journal, found that drinking coffee in the morning can dramatically lower the chance of death.
Drinking coffee in the: Tullin University experts led the study, which required following individuals for over ten years. Dr. Lu Chi, the study’s primary author, stated that this is the first study to look at the timing of coffee consumption and its impact on health. Typically, no guidance on diet timing is given. However, in the future, this could be considered.
Coffee consumption patterns among participants
The study collected data from 40,725 participants and found two unique types of coffee consumption:
Morning: People who primarily consumed coffee between 4 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Throughout the day: Those who drank coffee in the morning, afternoon (12 PM to 5 PM), and evening (5 PM to 4 AM).
Research Results
Following nearly ten years of follow-up observations, the researchers discovered that people who drank coffee in the morning had a 16% lower risk of death than those who did not drink coffee. Furthermore, their chances of dying from heart disease were 31% lower.
In contrast, those who consumed coffee throughout the day showed no signs of reduced risk.
The study also reveals that the time of coffee drinking can have a major impact on health.
Why is drinking coffee in the morning so beneficial?
Dr. Chi states, “So far, studies have shown that drinking coffee does not increase the risk of heart disease.” In fact, it can lower the risk of certain chronic illnesses, such as type 2 diabetes.
On the other hand, consuming coffee in the evening or at night can disrupt the circadian rhythm and melatonin hormone levels. As a result, it may raise the risk of cardiovascular disease.
