Two days after going missing

Two days after going missing, the body of Ha-Meem Group’s GM was discovered in Turag. The police have recovered the body of Ahsan Ullah (48), the General Manager (GM) of a private company, from Uttara Sector 16 under Turag Police Station in the capital.

Two days after going missing: On Tuesday (March 25) at noon, the body was recovered and sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College morgue.

According to police and family sources, Ahsan Ullah Hasan was the General Manager (Industrial Engineer) at That’s It Sportswear Ltd., a company under Ha-Meem Group in Ashulia. His residence was in the Chandalbhog area under Turag Police Station. He commuted to work daily in his private car, driven by his personal driver, Saiful Islam, who had been working for him for the past eight months. Like every day, Ahsan Ullah left his home on Sunday morning for work in his car, driven by Saiful. After finishing work at around 3:30 PM, he started heading home. At 4 PM, his wife, Lutfun Nahar, called him, but the call was disconnected from the other end. Later, before iftar, she called again but couldn’t reach him.

Worried, she called the driver Saiful to ask about her husband’s whereabouts. Saiful informed her that Ahsan Ullah was in Mirpur for a meeting. When she asked him to let her speak with her husband, Saiful replied, “Sir is in a meeting.” When Ahsan did not return home by 8 PM, she called again, only to find his phone switched off. Calling the driver once more, she was told that Ahsan had gone to meet someone in Uttara Sector 17 and had asked Saiful to return home with the car. Later that night, the driver returned the car and left.

Concerned family members began searching for Ahsan at different places but found no trace of him. At dawn, they filed a General Diary (GD) at Turag Police Station. By Monday morning, driver Saiful had gone into hiding with his wife and children from his rented home in Chandalbhog, and his phone was also switched off. Later that day, Ahsan’s wife, Lutfun Nahar, filed an abduction case against Saiful.

Turag Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rahat Khan said that after the GD was filed, they began searching for the missing person. On Tuesday at noon, they received information that an unidentified body was found inside a grassy area in Sector 16. Upon recovering the partially decomposed body, they confirmed that it was Ahsan Ullah. His body had injury marks, and it is suspected that he was suffocated to death before being dumped there. The abduction case will now be converted into a murder case.
