Threat to bomb and blow up India’s Reserve Bank. The Indian Reserve Bank (RBI) has been threatened with a bomb. This is the second time that a threat of this nature has been issued in less than a month. A threatening email warning of an explosion at the Reserve Bank was issued, according to reports from Indian media.

 

Threat to bomb and blow: The Hindustan Times said that the threatening email was sent in Russian, according to sources. Police in Mumbai acknowledged Friday that they are looking into the Indian Reserve Bank bomb threat.

According to a senior police officer, the warning was sent to Sanjay Malhotra, the recently appointed bank governor, at his official email account. He continued, “We have filed a case, and an investigation is underway.”

 

The police added that the sender of the email might have concealed their genuine identity and location by using a virtual private network (VPN).

Hundreds of bomb threats have been sent to Indian schools, train stations, airports, and airlines this year. At least 40 Delhi schools were threatened with bombings just last Monday.
