Five (5) Indian soldiers died in Kashmir. On Tuesday (December 24), a military truck went off the road and crashed into a 300-foot-deep chasm in India-administered Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch region, killing five troops and injuring numerous more, officials said, according to NDTV.

 

Five (5) Indian soldiers died: The tragedy occurred in the Gharowa area of Poonch district, as a military truck was on its way to Bhain.

 

In a statement on social networking platform X, the Indian Army’s 16 Corps said, “The White Knight Corps mourns the tragic loss of five brave soldiers in a vehicle accident while performing operational duties in the Poonch sector.”

 

The Indian Army has confirmed that rescue activities are still underway at the scene of the event. The injured soldiers are receiving medical care. In addition, fast reaction team members and Jammu and Kashmir Police officers are present on the scene.
