The released female soldiers are Liri Albag (19), Karina Ariev (20), Danielle Gilboa (20), and Nama Levi (20). Israel’s public broadcaster Kan reported that the freed soldiers would be transported to Re’im with fighters from a special military unit of the Israeli IDF.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas captured these four female members of an Israeli military surveillance unit from the Nahal Oz military base near Gaza.
Previously, as part of a ceasefire agreement, Hamas announced the release of these four female Israeli soldiers. In exchange, two groups of Palestinian detainees are set to be released from two Israeli prisons.
