After seven and a half years, she will finally meet her son Tarique Rahman in London. Meanwhile, in anticipation of Khaleda Zia’s international travel, security measures have been tightened around Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Furthermore, to avoid public discomfort during her departure, the central BNP has issued special orders to the leaders and activists of the Dhaka Metropolitan BNP and all of its connected organizations.
The former Prime Minister will be protected by multiple levels of security at the airport. Khaleda Zia is set to have more therapy at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Maryland, USA, following a few days of treatment there.
Khaleda Zia, who is 80 years old, has long suffered from a variety of health concerns, including liver cirrhosis, heart disease, and kidney issues. She was condemned in two instances starting in February 2018 and spent the next two years alone in an abandoned prison in Old Dhaka. Although her sentence was suspended by executive order, she spent more than four years in the hospital, suffering from a variety of ailments. Despite repeated appeals, the Awami League government denied her permission to travel abroad for treatment. Her latest travel overseas was in July 2017.
