He encouraged the United States to critically consider its actions and to “responsibly account” to the global community. The representative further stated that any attempt to separate Taiwan from the mainland would never be permitted.
Zhang referred to Washington’s arms sales and military aid to Taiwan as a violation of the “One China Policy,” saying that the Chinese people are steadfastly dedicated to protecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
