Mehjabin is thrilled with the film. The Cairo International Film Festival, one of Africa’s and the Arab world’s most prominent and oldest festivals, will kick up on November 13 at Egypt’s Cairo Opera House and run until November 22. This year, Bangladesh will compete alongside internationally famous filmmakers, producers, and artists.

Mehjabin is thrilled. The film Priyo Maloti, starring Mehjabin Chowdhury, has been officially selected for the World Cinema section of the 45th edition of the festival.

The English title for the film is Whispers of a Thirsty River. Mehjabin plays the title role in Priyo Maloti, a Chorki coproduction. Shankho Dasgupta and Abu Sayeed Rana wrote the script, while Shankho Dasgupta handled the story and direction. Mehjabin Chowdhury stated, “When working on a project, you don’t think about festivals.” But when your hard effort is chosen for international festivals, it feels fantastic. In the film, I played Maloti.

The film is being shown at the Cairo International Film Festival, and I am really excited. I eagerly await that moment. I chose this project mostly because of its interesting plot. Furthermore, the film’s crew was amazing. It’s wonderful that international audiences will see the picture, but I’d be happiest if I could present it to people at home. Priyo Maloti had four screenings at the Cairo Film Festival.

Two of these screenings will be for festival guests, one for the press, and another for the jury. Aside from Mehjabin, the cast includes Nader Chowdhury, Azad Abul Kalam, Shahjahan Samrat, Rizvi Riju, and several others.
