Russia has supported Donald Trump's

Russia has supported Donald Trump’s desire to resolve the crisis. On Friday (January 10), Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov responded to journalists’ questions, saying that Russian President Vladimir Putin is willing to meet with Donald Trump. He expressed hope that progress may be achieved in organizing a meeting after Trump’s inauguration on January 20, according to the British news agency Reuters.

Russia has supported Donald Trump’s: Earlier, on Thursday, Trump stated that a meeting with Putin was being planned. However, he did not provide a particular date or time. Trump remarked that the fighting in Ukraine must stop shortly. He stated that President Putin has expressed a desire in meeting for negotiations, which has been made public.

According to Peskov, Trump has expressed a strong desire in settling the problem through discussion. Moscow appreciates this attention.

A Kremlin spokeswoman claimed that no formal plans for the meeting had been finalized yet. However, Russia is continuing under the assumption that both parties are interested in the meeting. It is hoped that progress would be made on this issue once Trump becomes office.

With Trump’s unexpected return to the White House, many people believe there may be a diplomatic solution to the Ukraine situation. However, Ukraine does not believe in that likelihood. Kyiv is concerned that if a peace accord is rushed, Ukraine will bear a significant cost.

During his election campaign, Trump repeatedly promised that he could end the Ukraine war in 24 hours. However, he and his advisors have suddenly changed their approach, indicating that it may take several months to achieve a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

Peskov stated that Putin has always been interested in meeting with world leaders, including Trump. He highlighted that there are no preconditions for the talk’s other than a shared political will to end the issue through dialogue.

Trump’s advisers have proposed a potential plan for ending the conflict. According to that scenario, a large chunk of Ukraine will be under Russian rule in the distant future.

According to Peskov, Putin remains committed to ending the war as proposed in June. In that plan, he stated two conditions: Kyiv must forsake its aspirations to join the Western military alliance NATO, and the four regions of Ukraine already under Russian control must be handed over to Russia. Ukraine has rejected this plan, claiming it is equivalent to capitulation.
