The Akhaura land port exported more than 172 tons of fish to India. Fish valued at more over 5 crore takas were shipped to India through this port on Monday. The port’s traders are taken aback by the unexpected increase in fish shipments. Investigations conducted on-site showed that 29 small and large vehicles carried frozen fish to India between 8 AM and 5 PM.

The Akhaura land port exported: Over 172 tons, or 172,434 kg, of fish were exported in total. The export price for each kilogram of fish is $2.50, or roughly 300 Bangladeshi Taka per kilogram. The shipment’s C&F (Clearing and Forwarding) agent was Mithu Enterprise.

 

Babul Enterprise is the corporation that exports. Bangladeshi businessmen clarified that the government has stopped exporting fish to India via a number of other ports. The demand for fish exports via this port has consequently grown eight to ten times. Additionally, traders observed that seven Indian states had a high demand for Bangladeshi fish.

Md. Hasibul Hasan, a port dealer, stated that there are no problems with exports, even if he has heard of other initiatives on the opposite side. “A record amount of fish was exported to India on Monday,” stated Nesar Uddin Bhuiyan, the owner of Mithu Enterprise, the C&F agent. Not a single day has seen the shipment of so many fish since the land port’s commercial operations began.

A far greater amount of fish is being supplied to India as a result of the country’s ports ceasing to export and Bangladesh’s strong fish production.

 

According to Akhaura Land Port’s Revenue Officer, Md. Wahiduzzaman Khan, “Fish exports have increased significantly since last week.” Even now, from dawn to dusk, fish was shipped to India.
