Husband killed by slitting leg tendons in front of wife. In Dhamrai, Dhaka, a man named Babul Hossain (52) was brutally hacked to death in front of his wife due to prior enmity. The incident took place on Friday (February 21) in the Bara Kushiara area of Kulla Union.
Husband killed by slitting leg tendons: Babul was a former member of Ward No. 6 of Kulla Union and the son of the late Idris Ali from Makhulia village. Four months ago, his father’s body was also found floating in the same area.
According to locals and the victim’s family, Babul and his wife, Yasmin Begum, were threshing mustard on their land around 2 PM when several attackers surrounded him and started striking him indiscriminately with sharp weapons. One of his eyes was gouged out, and his leg tendons were severed.
As his wife screamed for help, locals rushed to the scene, prompting the attackers to flee. Babul was taken to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Asif Hossain, a relative of the victim, stated that Yasmin begged for her husband’s life, holding the attackers’ feet, but they showed no mercy.
Babul’s cousin, Saidul Islam, alleged that the murder was carried out by Shawkat Ali, Rajib Hossain, Ashraf Ali, Anar Ali, and several others from the same area due to previous enmity.
Dhamrai Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Monirul Islam said, “We are making efforts to arrest Babul’s killers.”
