In Jashore, an Awami League leader was hacked to death by BNP terrorists. Ziauddin Palash, a former councilor of Ward No. 4 of Nowapara Municipality in Abhaynagar, Jashore, and the General Secretary of the Ward Awami League, was hacked to death by attackers. The event took at around 10 p.m. on Saturday in an abandoned structure behind the Income Tax Office in Nowapara. The attacks left him gravely injured. Locals rescued him and sent him to the Abhaynagar Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor pronounced him dead.
In Jashore, an Awami League leader: The news of the incident has generated widespread terror in Nowapara town. Emadul Karim, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Abhaynagar Police Station, alleged that Ziauddin Palash was hacked to death over a quarrel over possession of a ghat at Nowapara River port. During the attack, residents arrested a young man named Rais, beat him up, and turned him over to police. He has been apprehended and admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Locals identified Rais Uddin as a BNP supporter. It is worth noting that Ziauddin Palash’s father, Ibrahim Hossain Sardar, who was then a commissioner and labor leader in the same ward, was shot and killed by assailants almost two decades ago.
