South Africa advances to the Test Championship final with an incredible victory over Pakistan. South Africa needed 121 runs, and Pakistan had 7 wickets left. The fourth day of the first South Africa-Pakistan Test in Centurion started with the promise of an exciting conclusion.

South Africa emerged victorious in the nail-biting fight. Chasing a goal of 148 runs, the Proteas lost eight wickets for 99 runs. Pakistani pacer Mohammad Abbas, who returned to the Test team after three years, fuelled expectations for a surprising victory for Pakistan by taking six wickets. Kagiso Rabada, in collaboration with Marco Jansen, crushed those aspirations and led South Africa to victory.
When Marco Jansen sent Mohammad Abbas’ third ball of the 40th over into the point region for a boundary, the South Africans celebrated as if they had won the world. Winning a match, they were on the verge of losing moved them one step closer to global success. With this two-wicket victory, South Africa became the first team to reach the World Test Championship’s third cycle final.
When Jansen hit a boundary to seal the game, he was undefeated by 16 runs. In the 50-run stand for the ninth wicket, his partner Rabada scored 31 runs off 26 balls.
