India announced its Champions Trophy team, which excludes several renowned cricketers. The Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan in February, with a hybrid format. India’s matches will be held in the United Arab Emirates. On Saturday (January 18), the BCCI confirmed India’s final team.

 

India announced its Champions Trophy: Pacer Mohammad Shami, who was injured during the 2023 ODI World Cup, has returned to the squad after a long absence. Rohit Sharma will manage India, with Shubman Gill serving as his deputy.

 

However, some crucial players are missing from this group. Sanju Samson, who has excelled for India, and pacer Mohammad Siraj were not selected. However, Shreyas Iyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal have returned to the squad.

 

Pacer Jasprit Bumrah is in the squad, but his participation is dependent on his fitness, while Hardik Pandya is a pace-bowling all-rounder. The spinners are Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja.
