A Chhatra Dal activist was shot in the chest and head and killed in Narsingdi. The event occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Panchdona district of Sadar Upazila during a badminton game. Humayun Kabir, the dead, was the son of Ekramul Haque from the same area and an active member of the Meherpara Union Chhatra Dal.

Tanmoy, the victim’s nephew, informed the media that Humayun and a few others were playing badminton in a field near Panchdona Bazaar at night. Around 11 p.m., two young men from the same region, whom they knew, summoned Humayun to the mosque near a fish depot to talk. Tanmoy and others on the field then heard gunfire.
When Tanmoy arrived, the perpetrators fired at him as well, but the bullet missed. The crooks then fled on motorcycles. Humayun, who had been shot, was transferred to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital about 11:45 p.m., where he was pronounced dead.
Dr. Mahmudul Kabir Arif of the hospital’s emergency department stated that Humayun had died before being transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds to the chest and head.
Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madhabdi Police Station, reported that Humayun was shot during a badminton game by unknown assailants who fled. It is assumed that he was killed as a result of earlier animosity. The authorities are working to determine the exact motive for the murder and catch the perpetrators.
