In Bogura, Abdul Kuddus, the father of Jubo Dal leader Forkan Ali, has petitioned the Superintendent of Police to halt the investigation into the murder case filed in court, which names former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy, her sister Sheikh Rehana, and 160 others. He has also stated that he will file an application to withdraw the murder charge in the Senior Judicial Magistrate’s (Shajahanpur) Amli Court in Bogura on Sunday.

He also claimed that by threatening to implicate different people in the case, the complainant and their witnesses were extorting money. Forkan was allegedly “shot dead,” according to the case, but his father maintains that there was no shooting incident. He said that After Forkan became really scared and upset, he had a heart attack and died.

A murder complaint was filed in Bogura’s Senior Judicial Magistrate’s (Shajahanpur) Amli Court on November 1, eleven months after the occurrence. Yunus Ali, the Shajahanpur Upazila Jubo Dal’s Joint Convener, filed the complaint. Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her son and former ICT Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Sheikh Hasina’s younger sister Sheikh Rehana, District Volunteer League President Sajedur Rahman, Upazila Volunteer League leader Nuruzzaman, and 160 other people were named in the case, along with 400–500 unnamed people. On November 5, Abdul Kuddus, the father of Forkan Ali, filed a written complaint with the Bogura Superintendent of Police, alleging that the case was brought on the basis of incorrect information. He claimed in his complaint that his son Forkan Ali passed away from a heart attack as a result of the stress and anxiety brought on by the chase by law officials.
Forkan was buried without an autopsy because there was no reason to suspect foul play in his death. However, Yunus Ali filed a murder case in court with the intention of extorting money without first contacting or telling the family. Abdul Kuddus has asked the Superintendent of Police to take action against extortion and to halt the investigation into the fake murder case, which erroneously alleges that his son’s death from a heart attack was caused by a shooting. He informed Prothom Alo at 6:30 p.m. on Friday that he had appeared in court and that the court had requested the records pertaining to Forkan’s heart attack death. On Sunday, he intends to collect the necessary paperwork and submit a petition to the Shajahanpur Magistrate Court to have the charge dismissed.
