An Awami League activist was beaten and killed by severing his leg tendons in Kotchandpur, Jhenaidah. The event happened late Tuesday night. He was Lutfor Laskar’s son from the village. Around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday night, a group of at least 40 people arrived at Kawsar’s residence on about 20 bikes. They called Kawsar out of his residence and took him to a closed gate near the railway tracks, claiming to be police officers. They assaulted him and severed both of his leg tendons. He was transferred to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex about 2 a.m. and died from his injuries.
