Bangladesh won the series against the West Indies with one match to spare. Bangladesh won the first match of the T20 series, giving them a chance to win the series with one match to play. Liton Das’ team took advantage of that occasion, defeating the West Indies by 27 runs in the second T20. With this victory, the red and green representatives secured the series with one match remaining.

 

Bangladesh won the series against: Caribbean skipper Rovman Powell won the toss on Wednesday (December 18) at St. Vincent and ordered the Tigers in to bat first. Bangladesh scored 129 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs, thanks to cameo appearances from Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Zakir Ali, as well as a late blitz from Shamim Patwari.

Miraz scored 26 runs off 25 balls, and Zakir contributed 21 runs off 20 balls. Shamim stayed unbeaten with a scorching 35 off 17 deliveries. For the West Indies, Gudakesh Motie grabbed two wickets.

 

Chasing a goal of 130, the West Indies lost two wickets in 19 runs. Brandon King scored eight before being disqualified, while Andre Fletcher did not score. Taskin Ahmed took both wickets.

Mehidy Hasan then struck twice for Bangladesh, knocking out Johnson Charles for 14 off 12 balls and Nicholas Pooran for 5 off 8 balls. The West Indies quickly lost two more wickets, drastically decreasing their prospects of winning the match. Rovman Powell scored six off seven balls, while Romario Shepherd was dismissed without scoring.

 

Roston Chase and Akeal Hosein put up a fight, but following their dismissals, the West Indies crumbled, being bowled out for 102 in 18.3 overs. Chase scored 32 from 34 balls, while Akeal added 31 off 31. For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed took three wickets.
