In Brahmanbaria, a woman’s body: The cops retrieved the charred body in the morning after learning about the incident. At the time, a young man named Farhan Roni was apprehended and transported to the police station with the assistance of locals. The authorities believe the woman was slain after an attempted rape was foiled.
Farhan, who was arrested, is the son of Shahnewaz Bhuiyan. During the police interrogation, he admitted to being engaged in the murder and directed them to the site of the severed head.
According to police and villagers, a citizen in the Gazirbazar region complained that a swan had been stolen from his home. Around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, while hunting for the swan, people observed smoke rising from an abandoned tin shed at Shahnewaz Bhuiyan’s residence. Farhan Roni, who was present, said he was burning leaves. When this explanation was regarded with disbelief, two brothers, Enamul and Roman, and their cousin Ubaidul decided to investigate what was going on within the shed.
Farhan became enraged and threatened them with death. As their suspicions deepened, the three of them, along with other locals, went to the pit to see the body burn. They immediately alerted the police, who arrived and found the body. By that time, the majority of the body had been burned.
At first, the authorities couldn’t tell if the body was that of a man or a woman. However, when they noticed bangles on the wrists, they assumed it was a female body. Later that afternoon, authorities retrieved the woman’s head from the place described by Farhan. The woman’s identity was eventually confirmed. She was Harluja Begum (50), Nurul Islam Bepari’s wife from the Hirapur region of the Upazila.
Farhan is addicted to narcotics, according to Akhaura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Chami Uddin, and he is facing drug-related and theft charges. The victim, a woman, had lived in their home for a long time. On the day of the incident, Farhan invited her to his home.
The OC stated, “It is suspected that Farhan attempted to coerce her into an illegal act.” When she struggled, he killed her with a knife after 6:30 a.m., decapitating and severing her body. He then buried the head along the southern bank of a nearby pond. “The body was moved to another room near the market and burned.” The arrested youth’s information was used to recover the head and authenticate the woman’s identification. Authorities are also investigating how the incidents unfolded.
