In Sylhet, a young guy was brutally murdered in front of his parents in medieval style. Helal Mia (38) was arrested at Gowainghat, near the Sylhet border, and forced to swallow a concoction of lime and sand in two-liter water bottles on charges of livestock theft. This incident occurred in front of Helal’s parents, and many local adolescents held them hostage. The incident took place on Wednesday, December 25, early in the morning in the village of Radhanagar, Gowainghat.
In Sylhet, a young guy was brutally: Helal Mia, a native of Ghusgaon village in the Douhbari Union of Gowainghat, passed away. His body has been kept in the Gowainghat Upazila Health Complex. Following a preliminary assessment, his remains will be taken to the morgue at Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Dr. Rakib Ahmed of the Gowainghat Upazila Health Complex stated, “The family of the deceased, Helal Mia, informed us that he was forced to drink a mixture of lime and sand in water.” He felt unwell and died on his way to the health complex. His cause of death will be determined by the autopsy report. We have only given the cops a death certificate.”
Tofail Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gowainghat Police Station, alleged that Helal Mia was attacked by villagers after being accused of livestock theft. When his parents learned that their kid was being beaten, they went to rescue him. At the time, Helal’s parents asked the teens to take their injured kid home. However, a few young people violently took Helal back, tied him up, and beat him again.
According to the OC, during the beating, a few youngsters combined half a kilogram of lime and sand in two liters of water and forced him to swallow. Despite this, Helal’s parents were able to take him home. He became unwell at home and died while on his way to the Upazila Health Complex.
He added, “Multiple police teams, including a district detective police (DB) unit, are attempting to apprehend individuals guilty for this awful incident. According to what we know, his death was caused by poisoning.
