Just a few hours earlier, at midnight on Wednesday, another fire broke out at the Secretary Residence in Dhaka’s Eskaton neighborhood. Two Fire Service units responded and extinguished the fire.

He stated that about 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, they got reports of a fire in the kitchen of an apartment on the fourth floor of a 20-story structure at the Secretary Residence on Eskaton Garden Road. Two units from the Siddique Bazar Fire Station responded and extinguished the fire. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Furthermore, no casualties were reported during the occurrence.
Following this occurrence, a fire broke out in the Secretariat. The Fire Service was notified of the fire at 1:52 a.m. Beginning at 1:54 a.m., the Fire Service unit stationed at the Secretariat sought to suppress the fire. As the fire spread, 19 units arrived one by one. At 8:05 a.m., the fire had been brought under control after six hours of effort. Previously, many vital documents were burned to ashes.
A committee has been constituted to investigate the fire that occurred in the Secretariat’s Building No. 7. They have been asked to deliver their report within the next seven working days.
