A total of 33.875 million Taka has been allocated for the purchase of blankets to be distributed to those afflicted by the cold. These blankets will be handed to 495 upazilas and 64 districts. The Ministry has asked District Commissioners to strictly oversee the blanket procurement and distribution procedure.

According to the news release, which was signed by the Ministry’s Information and Public Relations Officer, Md. Enayet Hossain, 679,000 blankets would be donated from the Chief Advisor’s Relief Fund to those afflicted by the ongoing cold wave. Furthermore, the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has allotted 33.875 million Taka to purchase blankets, which will be distributed across 495 upazilas and all municipalities in 64 districts divided into eight divisions.
The news release also noted that the blankets allotted from the Chief Advisor’s Relief Fund were dispersed appropriately, and the Ministry’s money were used to purchase blankets in accordance with all applicable financial requirements. Under the supervision of District Commissioners, Upazila Executive Officers have already acquired and distributed blankets to the needy.
It was also stated that when winter arrived, 15,250 blankets were handed to cold-stricken residents of 14 districts in the country’s northern area.
