The fire at an important establishment such as the Secretariat is a glaring reminder of the current unconstitutional and anarchic Yunus government’s complete failure. Jananetri Sheikh Hasina, President of the Bangladesh Awami League and Bangabandhu’s daughter, has voiced her serious concern about the fire at the Secretariat. In her statement, she advocated for an unbiased investigation and punishment for those responsible. Her statement is provided below.
The fire at an important establishment :Â In her statement, the Awami League President stated that the fire at the Secretariat, a critical establishment, exemplifies the current unconstitutional and anarchist Yunus government’s complete failure. The unlawfully established and unelected administration is not accountable to the people, and they are neglectful in all areas, including defending citizens’ lives and property and preserving peace and order.
The Secretariat is an extremely significant and protected area. Following the fire catastrophe, the public has raised numerous questions. People feel that once the anarchist Yunus administration illegally grabbed power, certain advisers ignored the law and worked arbitrarily to achieve their own goals. Corruption in numerous ministries has already become a source of public debate. It is probable that this fire was deliberately lit to eliminate proof of fraudulent conduct.
A coordinator was there at the location during the fire, and he had earlier admitted in the media to setting fire to the metro and killing police officers as part of a precise plan disguised as a movement. The presence of this coordinator increases the likelihood that the fire was premeditated. Furthermore, a dog was discovered dead on the eighth-floor balcony of the building where the fire started. The public has expressed concern over the dog’s location on the eighth floor.
According to her statements, administrative reforms are being used to manipulate government officials and staff. The media has already aired a video of a student representative overseeing the Administrative Reform Commission. This government is attempting to control officials for its own benefit through various sorts of intimidation, which has sparked dissatisfaction among government personnel.
In this backdrop, administrative specialists believe the fire was purposely caused to undermine government personnel’ professionalism and bring them under the authority of the Yunus administration. At the same time, questions are being raised about whether the fire was staged to conceal the Yunus government’s widespread failures and wrongdoings.
Sheikh Hasina stated that the Secretariat is a closed place with controlled access. In addition to CCTV, the Secretariat has night-vision cameras, which should record video footage. On behalf of the people, I demand that this video be made public. At the same time, I urge for a prompt investigation conducted by an impartial inquiry, as well as the rapid dissemination of the investigation findings, to bring the perpetrators to justice. I encourage the fascist Yunus government to grasp the people’s language.
In response to the people’s demands, the government should resign if it fails to safeguard the protection of the Secretariat as well as the lives and property of citizens. Otherwise, the Bengali people will band together to overthrow this regime.
