The Khulna Tigers skipper Miraz’s car was halted by irate spectators. On Sunday, December 29, fans had demonstrated against BPL tickets. On Monday, the first day of BPL, an even more significant unwelcome incidence happened. The stadium’s second gate was broken down by irate spectators who couldn’t buy tickets. Additionally, they barred Mehedi Hasan Miraz, the captain of the Khulna Tigers, from using his personal vehicle.
The Khulna Tigers skipper Miraz’s: The BCB had declared in a statement on Sunday that there will be no ticket sales close to the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium. Tickets were available for purchase at specific Modhumoti Bank branches and online at www.gobcbticket.com.bd. After not being able to get tickets from Modhumoti Bank locations, fans were irate.
Spectators gathered in front of the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium’s main gate at approximately eleven in the morning. The situation quickly deteriorated after some of the fans began pulling down festoons and flags. In addition, the irate spectators broke multiple iron gates and destroyed Sher-e-Bangla Stadium’s main gate.
The cops had to use baton charges to keep the scene under control. Most of the situation is now peaceful. Durbar Rajshahi and Fortune Barishal, the reigning champions, square off in the day’s opening match. Rangpur Riders will play the Dhaka Capitals in the second game of the day at 6:30 PM.
