The three (3) robbers who raided a bank in Keraniganj, Dhaka, have surrendered. Following discussions, the three robbers surrendered to police at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday (December 19). There were no casualties recorded in the incident.
The three (3) robbers who raided: It has been discovered that the surrender was aided through negotiations. Law enforcement officers escorted the robbers out of the bank. The hostages, who numbered 8 to 10, as well as the bank manager, were successfully rescued. The bank’s vault remains secure.
In a WhatsApp message to the media, RAB-10 reported that three thieves entered Rupali Bank in the Chunkutia district and demanded 1.5 million taka. The three criminals, armed with guns, surrendered to the united forces.
Law enforcement officials reported that conversations were made with the robbers to persuade them to surrender. The robbers gave up their firearms through the glass. One firearm was dumped through the window, while the remaining guns were placed in a bag and thrown outside. The robbers came out one by one. At that point, law enforcement agents caught the three robbers and transported them in a car.
According to eyewitnesses, the burglars left a handwritten letter with their mobile phone numbers. Using these phone numbers, law enforcement agents made touch with the robbers. The three robbers are ages 18 to 22. However, law enforcement has not provided any further information about their identities.
Earlier, about 2 p.m. on Thursday, the robbers entered the bank. When the crime was proclaimed over the loudspeaker of a neighboring mosque, hundreds of residents encircled the bank branch and closed it from the outside. Teams from the police, RAB, fire department, and army responded to the area and cordoned off the bank.
Meanwhile, as word spread of the bank robbery, a large crowd of inquisitive observers gathered at the location. For security considerations, traffic on both sides of the main road near to the bank was stopped. An announcement was also issued over the loudspeaker of a neighboring mosque, imploring the robbers to surrender. The robbers surrendered in the evening as a result of law enforcement efforts.
