Two (2) Jubo League leaders have been arrested after roaring the “Joy Bangla” slogan. Police in Anwara, Chittagong, detained two innocent Jubo League leaders for singing the “Joy Bangla” slogan on Victory Day night. They were apprehended early on Wednesday (December 18) from their separate homes.

Two (2) Jubo League leaders: Tariq Aziz (32), son of the late Nurul Abshar from the North Chhatri region of Chhatri Union, and Mohammad Russell, son of the late Fazal Ahmed from Barkhane Union’s Ward 7, have been detained.

Tariq Aziz serves as the Jubo League’s organizing secretary in the Chhatri Union. According to SI Mohammad Faruk of Anwara Police Station, the arrested individuals are suspected of leading a parade and chanting “Joy Bangla” on the night of December 15.

Local leaders, workers, and their families have demanded the immediate release of the two individuals. They stated, “Is loving the country a crime? Is singing the victory song for the country on Victory Day a crime? Under this illegal Yunus government, the country is not in a good state, and the safety of the people’s lives is not secure. ‘Joy Bangla’ is the slogan of the Bengali people’s hearts. We will continue to chant ‘Joy Bangla’.”
