Businessman kidnapped; ransom must be paid at the bank; any disclosure will result in death. A businessman named Md. Idris Ali has been kidnapped by miscreants in Saturia, Manikganj. According to his family, he was abducted on Saturday evening.
Businessman kidnapped: Idris’s wife stated that the kidnappers demanded a ransom of 8.25 lakh BDT via a phone call. The amount must be paid through a bank, and if anyone is informed, her husband’s dead body will be sent.
Idris is the son of Md. Nozar Ali from Baliati Shimulia village in the upazila. Following the incident, his brother, Aminur Islam, filed a complaint at Saturia Police Station on Sunday.
Idris’s wife, Nipa Akter, said that the kidnappers called three times on Sunday, demanding the ransom and threatening to kill her husband if it was not paid. On Monday, they called again, asking whether the money had been arranged. They warned her that if she informed the police or journalists, her husband’s dead body would be sent.
At one point, the kidnappers allowed Nipa to speak with her husband. According to Nipa, Idris told her over the phone that he did not know where he was being held and that the kidnappers were pressuring him for money. They threatened to kill him if the ransom was not paid.
Nipa further mentioned that when she asked where to send the ransom, the kidnappers insisted that it must be sent through a bank. They repeatedly used Idris’s phone to threaten and demand the money.
Regarding the incident, Saturia Police Station’s Inspector (Investigation) Manbendra Balu stated that the victim’s family has filed a complaint, and efforts are underway to track down the kidnappers using technology.
