Clash between Indian and Bangladeshi citizens in the ‘No Man’s Land’ area at the Chapainawabganj border; 2 injured. A furious dispute about tree-cutting led to the altercation. The incident resulted in the injuries of two Bangladeshis. They are Faruk, son of Serajul Islam from Kariganj village, and Roni, son of Ziarul Islam from Ghontola Bishwanathpur village in Binodpur Union.

The building of barbed wire fencing had raised concerns about the Chouka border area, which was later the focus of the conflict that started at the Kiranganj border. Along the border, the unrest has spread up to three kilometers.
Additional BGB-BSF Deployment at the Border: Imrul Kayes, 59 BGB Battalion Deputy Commander, is on the site and is attempting to maintain order. Regarding the incident, more forces have been brought in. However, on the Indian side of the border, there has been a noticeable rise in BSF deployment.
In the Chouka border area, locals claim that Indian nationals broke into Bangladeshi territory and felled more than 100 jujube trees and at least 30 mango trees.
“Faruk was on a motorcycle observing the situation in the border area when he was seriously injured in the head by stones thrown by the Indians,” said Rabu, a resident of Ghumtola village in Kaliganj.
According to a man named Mithun, “Roni was attacked by roughly ten Indians who had crossed into Bangladesh while he was standing at the border with a bamboo stick. The attack caused injuries to him.
The head of the local BGB battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Golam Kibria, was not reachable by telephone despite attempts to reach him for remarks.
