Five days after going missing in Belabo, Narsingdi, 13-year-old schoolboy Anoy Chandra Modak’s body was discovered floating in the Arial Khan River. His body was discovered this Sunday in the Arial Khan River close to Belabo Upazila’s Dighaldikanda neighborhood.
School student killed even after: The authorities said that a DNA test is necessary to confirm the identify, despite Anoy’s family’s assertion that the floating body belongs to the missing student. The body is no longer identifiable due to its disfigurement and bloating.
Gouranga Chandra Modak was the father of Anoy, who lived in the Belabo Upazila village of Matiyal Para. He attended Belabo Pilot Government Modern High School in the eighth grade. An unidentified caller said he had been abducted and demanded a one lakh taka ransom after he vanished. According to their instructions, the ransom was paid.
According to reports, Anoy went to Belabo Bazaar on the evening of January 14 to buy school supplies, but he never came home. His relatives looked everywhere for him but was unable to locate him. The family filed a general journal at Belabo Police Station that evening, and it was subsequently turned into a legal case.
Social media started to buzz with conversations about the situation after Anoy vanished. An unidentified caller then got in touch with Anoy’s family and sought a one lakh taka ransom. As instructed, the ransom funds were transferred using the bKash mobile payment network.
Belabo Police began monitoring the kidnappers’ mobile number in the interim. They found that the money was received using a bKash number that was registered in Bhola, Barishal. According to rumors, a squad from Belabo Police Station is presently in Bhola to carry out Anoy’s rescue.
Locals alerted the police this Sunday afternoon after spotting a floating body in the Arial Khan River close to the Dighaldikandi neighborhood of Binnabaid Union in Belabo Upazila. To conduct an investigation, police, PBI, CID, and DB personnel came to the spot.
According to Anoy’s relatives, this is a murder case. They have called for those responsible for Anoy’s murder to receive exemplary punishment.
Palash Modak, Anoy’s cousin, stated: “We looked everywhere for Anoy after he vanished, but we were unable to locate him. At the police station, we subsequently filed a general diary. We were unable to rescue Anoy alive even after paying the one lakh taka ransom. They took his life.
“We went to the scene after receiving information about the floating body in the river,” stated Mir Mahbubur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Belabo Police Station. The family of the missing boy believes that this is Anoy’s body. A post-mortem and DNA test will be performed to confirm the identity.
