The Matlab North Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (Investigation), Pradip, stated, “I immediately notified the higher authorities after receiving the news at night.” Under the direction of the Joint Forces In-Charge, we arrived at the spot as directed by our SP Sir. We are attempting to collect information after putting out the fire. There will be legal action taken in this regard.
“We received reports of vandalism and arson at the residence of former MP Maya Chowdhury,” stated Khairul Kabir Chowdhury, Chandpur’s Additional Superintendent of Police (Matlab Circle). After that, we hurried to the scene with the fire department, police, and army.
“The ground floors of two buildings were vandalized and set on fire,” he added. However, the damage to the ground floors was limited since the fire department was able to immediately contain the fire.
