Attacks on Israeli military installations are ordered by Khamenei: AFP reported this story today, citing the ‘Tehran Times’.
According to Iranian officials, the American news agency ‘The New York Times’ published a related piece. Citing this, the Israeli news site ‘Times of Israel’ said on Thursday, October 31, that Iran would not launch a strike before the US election the following day.
Other media sources, however, have suggested that Iran may launch an attack on Israel prior to the U.S. election.
The Times said, citing three officials involved in Tehran’s war planning, that after learning the amount of the damage caused by Israeli attacks, Supreme Leader Khamenei directed his Supreme National Security Council to carry out the attacks last Monday.
According to the source, Iranian military officials are putting together a list of prospective Israeli military targets.
On Wednesday, October 30, the American news website CNN said, citing a high-level source, that Iran would reply to Israel’s recent attacks in a “specific” and “painful” way. This could occur before the 2018 US presidential election.
A source close to Iranian officials told CNN that Iran’s retaliation to the Zionist rulers’ acts will be “specific” and serious.
A person who preferred to remain anonymous indicated that no precise date for the attack has been announced. “It is likely to occur the day before the U.S. presidential election.”
However, the Israeli military has made no remark on this topic thus far.
