Clash between two BNP factions over the distribution of stolen items from a ship. In Monpura, Bhola, two BNP factions clashed over the division of a stolen ship anchor, resulting in at least 15 injuries. The event took place on Monday (January 20) at around 10:30 a.m. in Alam Bazar of the Uttar Sakuchia Union in the upazila. Yasin, his son Mamun, Maksud, Sagor, Shamim, Helal, Alauddin, Sujan, Russell, Salauddin, Saddam, and Hashem are among those injured. All of the injured participate in BNP politics.

Md. Kabir Sohel, the Upazila Health Officer, stated that five people were hurt in the altercation and were taken to the Monpura Upazila Health Complex. Two of them are in critical condition and have been referred for further treatment. The others were given primary care and sent home.
Locals stated that on January 13, a disagreement occurred over the sale and division of a stolen anchor from a sand-laden ship, resulting in a brawl between two parties. Later, BNP leaders at the upazila level attempted to resolve the situation. However, emotions flared again on Monday, as supporters of Nazim Alam, a former Member of Parliament for Charfassion-Monpura and BNP leader, clashed with Nurul Islam, the Jubo Dal’s central General Secretary, over the issue. At least 15 persons from both sides were injured during the conflict.
When called for information, Monpura Upazila BNP Organizing Secretary Mahbubul Alam did not answer the phone.
Md. Ahsan Kabir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Monpura Police Station, stated, “When we heard about the clash, we deployed police to the scene. There have been no complaints filed yet. If we get a complaint, we will take legal action.
