In Lalmonirhat, three leaders of the Jubo Dal have been expelled for obstructing the submission of tenders.
Three leaders of the Jubo Dal have been expelled from all positions in the organization for obstructing the submission of
tenders at Lalmonirhat Sadar Hospital. This information was provided in a press release signed by Minhajul Bhuiyan, the
Assistant Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Jubo Dal, on Thursday.
The three leaders are Suman Mia, the Organizational Secretary of the Jubo Dal in Ward 7 of the municipality; Mominul
Islam, the Joint Convener of the municipal Jubo Dal; and Jahangir Alam, also called Zulhas, the Senior Vice President of the
district Jubo Dal and the organizer of the Lalmonirhat municipal Jubo Dal.
According to local sources, last Wednesday was the last day for submitting tenders for the 2024-25 fiscal year at the 250-bed
hospital in the district headquarters. The tender submission period was set from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on that day. Some
businessmen reported facing obstacles when they went to submit their tenders that morning and made a verbal complaint
to the hospital supervisor. Later, army personnel arrived at the scene and detained a few people, including Jubo Dal leader
Jahangir Alam (Julhas).
Several eyewitnesses said that the army and police were quickly notified of the impediment to tender submissions by phone.
Later, army men arrived at the district hospital in a vehicle. At the time, several individuals fled by climbing the hospital
wall. The army personnel studied CCTV footage from the incident, identified a few people, and apprehended them. Jahangir
Alam was among those arrested and taken to the Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station. Because no one made a formal
complaint, the police released Jahangir Alam with a written statement that Wednesday evening. However, the police wrote a
generic journal note at the Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station about the entire occurrence.
