Two (2) leaders of the Awami League

Two (2) leaders of the Awami League and Jubo League were detained in Kishoreganj on false and conspiracy allegations. Two Awami League and Jubo League officials were detained by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Kishoreganj in relation to an assault on residents and students during an anti-discrimination demonstration.

 

Two (2) leaders of the Awami League… At approximately 7:30 PM on Monday, November 18, they were taken into custody from the Boulay neighborhood of Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila. Local authorities, activists, and their family members, however, assert that the two are totally innocent and were detained on the basis of a contrived, unsubstantiated, and fraudulent accusation.

Md. Kamrul Islam (34), general secretary of the 4th Ward Jubo League of the same union, and Md. Sheikh Sadi (50), general secretary of the 8th Ward Awami League of Boula Union in Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila, are the people who were detained.

 

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md. Abdul Hai Chowdhury, the media officer for RAB-14 Kishoreganj Camp, verified the situation on Monday evening, indicating that the two apprehended men had been turned over to Kishoreganj Model Police Station.

In a report filed with the Kishoreganj Model Police Station, Md. Sheikh Sadi and Md. Kamrul Islam were taken into custody on suspicion of attacking students and residents during a Kishoreganj anti-discrimination demonstration.
