Reception for the SAFF-winning women’s team. The Chief Adviser ensures the resolution of Sabina’s obstacles.
Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor, honored the SAFF-winning women’s football team this morning at the State Guest House Jamuna. During the brunch session, the female footballers discussed numerous concerns with the Chief Advisor. After listening to their issues, the Chief Advisor requested that they submit their complaints in writing.
Sports advisor Asif Mahmud has notified press about his meetings with the chief advisor about female footballers. He stated that the players, rather than the committee members, will be prioritized going forward.
The sports advisor stated, “Our esteemed chief advisor invited the SAFF-winning women’s football team to breakfast. Sir listened to each member of the women’s football team with patience. He learned about their numerous concerns and requested a full written report on them. The women’s football team members brought signed jerseys and footballs as gifts. They had detailed discussions about their difficulties. Sir guaranteed that he will personally take action to resolve the issues.”
When asked about the chief adviser’s message to the female footballers, sports advisor Asif Mahmud replied, “The chief advisor has wanted everything in writing. Everyone will contribute personally. He has encouraged the squad to maintain their winning streak.”
A total of 25 individuals, including players and the head coach, were invited by the chief advisor. The assistant coach and the goalkeeper coach were not present. Regarding this, the sports advisor said, “The president of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) was not in the country, which is why they were not included. Based on the list of 25 names I received, we made arrangements to bring them here. The assistant coach and the goalkeeper coach’s names were not on the list.”
Concerning the topic of supplying flats for the athletes, the sports advisor stated, “I don’t know anything about the flats. They have not informed Sir either. If anything linked to it appears in the written report, we will investigate it. We shall do our best within our country’s capabilities. From the outside, it appears that the cricket team has a lot of PR, but they also have several little concerns. The key stakeholders in sports are the athletes, and they will be prioritized. Until now, committee members were given priority, but that will no longer be the case, at least during my tenure—I will ensure it.”
